- Upgraded server hardware (completed mid-2021).
We are a tad bit early on our Spring update release, but we just couldn’t wait and wanted you to get the best features sooner, rather than later! We have been busy behind-the-scenes working on optimizations, security enhancements, and of course maintaining updates on all your lovely websites.
Major security upgrades: Without getting into the nitty-gritty, we made some huge advancements in hardening our server and making improvements.
Brotli Compression: Out with the old and in with the new! We swapped our gzip compression with Brotli. Brotli was developed by Google and offers better compression for all of your files hosted on our server. This means you get:
- Javascript files compressed with Brotli are 14% smaller than gzip(1).
- HTML files are 21% smaller than gzip(1).
- CSS files are 17% smaller than gzip(1).

Server Hardware Upgrade: We switched and upgraded our server to utilize more disk space, RAM, and CPU power. All of these upgrades were actually done in 2021, however, it took some time for us to complete and finalize the software side of things to get back up to speed with our high tech standards. We also swapped out Apache with NGINX for up to 3x better performance!
